I cannot find the perfect adjective to define this book. The story was unique, beautiful, heart wrenching, emotional etc.

The story is about three biological siblings Grace, Maya and Joaquin who were separated in the childhood and later found each other’s existence.

Their first meeting was awkward but they had the mutual love of eating French fries with mayonnaise which help them to break the ice. Each of them had their separated share of emotional wounds and as they started to get comfortable with each other and share their insecurities, they got feeling of a real family.

“It took us fifteen years to find each other, but we still did! And sometimes, family hurts each other. But after that’s done you bandage each other up, and you move on. Together. You’ve got us now, like it or not, and we’ve got you.”

Perfect family doesn’t always feel like home. Home is where family supports, comforts, helps and teaches us to be honest regardless of any blood relation.

In this story, I often connected with Grace as I am the only child and being an only child is difficult.
